Located 24 miles northwest of Downtown Houston, Cypress is an unincorporated community in Harris County, Texas. What was before a mostly rural area eventually became one of Houston’s largest suburbs due to the development and construction of master-planned communities and neighborhoods starting in the 1980s.


Cypress has a wide selection of homes and properties, including many single-family homes with large yard space ranging from luxurious ranch-style to contemporary architecture. The Boardwalk is also host to several events year-round, like the farmer’s market, and free concert events. 


Enjoy an exceptional dining experience at the upscale Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood, located at the heart of Cypress. Besides having the finest steak and freshest seafood, they also have weekend brunch. For a more casual outing to eat and drink, Lazy Dog has a small mountain town vibe and has an extensive menu with burgers, bowls, sandwiches, noodles, fish, and more. 

 

Things to Do

Golf enthusiasts will be happy in Cypress. There’s the BlackHorse Golf Club, considered one of the top public courses in Texas, with traditional courses boasting beautiful landscapes.

 

A couple of other clubs worth visiting at Cypress include Longwood Golf Club and the Cypress Lakes Golf Club, perfect for players of all levels and equipped with top facilities.


There are way too many parks at Cypress, and that’s a good thing. Several of them have heavily wooded areas, and bodies of water where you can fish. You’ll never get tired of strolling through the trails, appreciating the gorgeous green scenery and views of the water. You’ll love exercising and relaxing by the water at Cypress Park, which also features a big children’s playground. Deputy Darren Goforth Park on Horsepen Creek not only has a nearby dog park and trails, but it also has a lake. Maxwell Park borders Cypress Creek (yes, you can fish!) and is full of wooded terrain with great trails. You can also fish at Telge Park, and children will certainly make use of the playground. Other parks worth a visit include East Shadowlake Pocket Park, Russ Pope Family Park, Bud Hadfield Park, and Regency Green Pocket Park.


Another wonderful activity to do at Cypress is horse riding. The Cypress community loves horses and recognizes that once you welcome horses into your life, there is no going back.
